Herbert Allgeier - Senior Advisor

Herbert Allgeier is often referred to as one of the “Fathers” of Copernicus and has an impressive resume with top positions at the European institutions. His last position before retirement was Director-General of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre and he has been director of various institutions active in Aerospace or Technology during his career. His expertise is in Space Policy matters & institutional advisory. Currently Mr. Allgeier is chairman of the advisory board of the European Space Policy Institute.

Dr. Stefano Bruzzi - Senior Advisor

Stefano Bruzzi has more than 30 years of experience in Earth Observation and is an expert on EO policy development, programmes and monitoring. He is the former Head of the European Space Agency’s Earth Observation Programme Planning and Coordination Unit. Earlier in his career Dr. Bruzzi has been Mission Manager for several EO programmes, most prominently for Envisat, one of Europe’s most successful Earth Observation satellites. He also serves as Advisor to the President of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) on climate change. Dr. Bruzzi obtained a Masters and a PhD in Physics.

Bertram Arbesser-Rastburg - Senior Advisor

Bertram Arbesser-Rastburg has over 30 years of expertise in earth observation, satellite navigation and satellite communication.  He is the former Head of the Electromagnetics & Space Environment Division at the European Space Agency and has served as expert to several European and national Institutions. Earlier in his career, he was with the R&D department of INTELSAT where he supported satellite development.  From 2007 to 2013 he was chairman of ITU-R Study Group 3.  Mr Arbesser-Rastburg has obtained a Masters in Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Graz in Austria. Currently, he is president of the Austrian Institute of Navigation (OVN/AIN).
